Cambridge-DR Stay Up Late for CD Duplication Project

Cambridge CD and DVD duplication company, Cambridge-DR, have announced that they have recently fulfilled an order to supply a CD and DVD package to Visual Concepts UK Ltd.

Visual Concepts is a Video production company that provides a range of services including corporate videos. This recent project required the filming of an annual, weeklong event called the 'Bank Card Business School' run by Visa. Key to the project was the completion of both a DVD and CD of the event within hours of the final presentation. This required 'near' real-time editing and production throughout the week and then final authoring and production of the CD, DVD and packaging overnight on the final day.

"This is now our third year of working with Visual Concepts on this project," stated Steve Woods, Sales Manager at Cambridge-DR. "It's hard work and there's a lot of pressure to get things right first time, but it's also very rewarding and exciting to be a part of it."

The annual 'Bank Card Business School' is run at Robinson College in Cambridge. Delegates arrive from around the world and get to compete in teams to design, execute and market their own credit and debit cards whilst attending training presentations covering a range of applicable skills and market knowledge. The objective of the week is to provide a broad understanding of the credit card Industry.

"It's a full on, high impact event," said Martin Talbot of Visual Concepts. "We shoot a lot of material which is edited throughout the week. It's enjoyable but requires a lot of hard work and concentration. With regards to Cambridge-DR's support, they are absolutely brilliant. The service and the quality of the final product are excellent, they are good people to deal with and certainly help us make this very challenging project possible. They are an integral part of our production team"

Although the main CD and DVD package contains important presentation material and an edited record of the weeks events, the Visual Concepts team also create a separate spoof video which features comical performances from the Visa Team. This is screened on the final day.

"As you can imagine, being able to turn around a project such as this overnight is not easy," said Steve Woods. "However, our latest digital CD printing technology and duplication equipment makes almost anything possible."

Camdridge-DR Chosen By Stella Hensley and Chris Newman for 'Tantra Blues' CD Production

CD and DVD duplication provider, Cambridge-DR has announced that it was chosen for the CD duplication and packaging of 'Tantra Blues', the latest album from Stella Hensley and Chris Newman.

The CD has been released in a high quality 'DigiPack' retail format with cellophane wrapper. Since 2002 Stella Hensley has been co writing with Cambridge based guitarist John Wright, having recorded two previous albums "Strong" and "Glass Bridges" that have created a good following. This latest album has been a new collaboration with Chris Newman. The songs on the album have been described as heartfelt, moving and beautifully melodic.

"Cambridge-DR have done a wonderful job," said Stella Hensley. "The quality of the final CD artwork and packaging has very much complimented the time and effort that went into creating this album. We have also been very pleased with the service and support we have had from the team at Cambridge-DR. We needed the first 500 CD's in a very short timescale for the Cambridge Folk Festival launch. They did an amazing job of getting them to us in time."

Cambridge-DR provides CD, DVD, Blu Ray and USB Drive duplication, printing and packaging services for a broad range of artists and industries. With client projects ranging from training videos to music CD's and from CD based product brochures and catalogues to examination board information CD's, Cambridge-DR has established itself as the leading providing of digital reproduction services in the East of England. Cambridge-DR is a part of Copytrax, a world leader in the design and manufacture of CD duplication and printing equipment. The CD production of this album was achieved using a Copytrax Picasso CD automated printing machine. A machine that is capable of medium volume production and high quality print.

"A lot of effort was put into the creation of the artworks for the CD. It's an impressive design, an original work of art by Su Kitely." said Steve Woods, Sales Manager at Cambridge-DR. "Using our special 'Colour Controller' software we were able to ensure an accurate colour match between the CD, the case design and other printed marketing material. When printing on different materials, the colours can easily drift, the Colour Controller software compensates for this factor. This is an important issue when working with high quality artworks."

Stella and Chris are currently performing together at folk clubs, festivals, music venues and wine bars in the London and Cambridge areas. Chris also performs with Steve Lockwood as ‘Hot Lips and Chilli Fingers’ at a range of similar venues.

Cambridge CD and DVD Duplication company is chosen by Nunkie Films for Ghost Story DVD's.

Cambridge-DR has announced that it has been working with local company Nunkie Films in the production ghost story DVD's, by providing duplication and packaging services.

Nunkie Films is the creation of local actor Robert Lloyd Parry. Since December 2005 Robert has been performing a trilogy of one-man shows based on the stories of M R James, a highly regarded writer of supernatural tales. The production of the DVD's has been in response to requests from visitors to Robert's popular shows and has since received acclaim and praise from newspapers such as the Daily Mail. Nunkie Films have already sold over eight hundred DVD's and are now planning a third DVD.

"It has been very rewarding to be a part of this project," said Philip Allingham, Manager at Cambridge-DR. "These DVD's are very good productions, and very entertaining. The artwork and layout for the packaging are also well thought out and nicely developed, making the whole package a nice project to have worked on."

The Nunkie Theatre Company was founded in 1996 for a performance of Alan Bennett's An Englishman Abroad at the Canal Café Theatre in Little Venice, London. After successful productions in the same venue of Patrick Suskind's The Double Bass and David Mamet's Squirrels, the company lay dormant for nearly a decade before being revived by Robert Lloyd Parry. His uncanny resemblance to M R James has been noted with a shudder by more than one enthusiastic audience member.

"The team at Cambridge-DR have been most helpful in the creation of the DVD's and the packaging," said Robert. "We have been working on very short time scale and they have been very responsive. The quality of the DVD and the packaging has been excellent, we are very pleased with their services."

Cambridge-DR Helps Bring The Magic of `78rpm to The Modern World

Cambridge-DR Provides CD Duplication Service for CD of songs from classic 78rpm recordings.

CD and DVD duplication specialists, Cambridge-DR, have announced that they have recently worked with The Shellac Collective to create a CD of songs from classic 78rpm recordings. Featuring artists such as B.B King, Cleo Brown and Muddy Waters, the CD is a collection of 26 tracks recorded from original 78rpm recordings dating from between 1929 and 1960, some of which have not been released on a CD before. The Shellac Collective is a group of DJ's that play 78rpm records at festivals, parties and events across the country.

"78rpm records really do have a certain magic and charm," said Greg Butler, a member of the Shellac Collective. "It was a very successful format in its time and had a much longer life than both 45's and even CD's have so far. So, there was a lot of great musical performances released during its lifetime and the Shellac Collective are helping to keep this music alive."

Cambridge-DR provides CD and DVD duplication services to businesses and artists across the UK. Using a range of duplication technologies, Cambridge-DR provides duplication for software, data, audio and video, as well reproducing artworks, casings and packaging.

"We really enjoy working with local organisation on projects such as this," said Steve Woods, Sales Manager at Cambridge-DR. "It's the passion of the people involved in this kind of project that makes it so much fun and the results so rewarding. It's a wonderful CD that is very rich and ambient. I'm sure it will bring a lot of pleasure to a great many people and it's good to know that these wonderful performances are being preserved."

Greg Butler is the manager of Greg's Greats, a company that deals in 78rpm shellac and rare Records. At one time Greg regularly supplied 78rpm records to John Peel to play on his BBC radio show. When John died, the show continued, but there was a requirement for the music to be supplied in a CD format. This is what first initiated Greg to start replicating the 78rpm music onto CD. Following this, Greg's music became popular at festivals where he met with similar DJ's that used 78rpm records. He then helped to form the Shellac Collective. The Shellac Collective now offer music from bygone times and play at events, Festivals, and Balls across the UK. They also present on various radio stations and run the Black Dahlia Tent at Bestival and Camp Bestival, two very popular festivals.

“We are very pleased with the support we have had from Cambridge-DR,” said Greg. “The team at Cambridge-DR are very friendly and helpful and we are very pleased with the quality of the CD and the packaging.”

The CD is called "Let's All Have a Jolly Good Time” and is available in the UK from Greg’s Greats and will also be on sale at a number of music festivals.

Pembroke College Chapel Choir Project Rescued by Cambridge Technology

When Cambridge's Pembroke College Chapel Choir recently got into trouble with the production of their 2007 Christmas carol CD, they found themselves turning to Cambridge-DR, a Cambridge company that not only specialises in the professional production of CD's and DVD's but is also a part of Copytrax, a world leader in the development of CD and DVD production technology.

cd duplication

"We had originally arranged for the production of the CD's with another company," said Dr Sam Barrett, Director of College Music. "But when the CD's arrived, the tracks were out of sequence and there were also tracks that we had requested to be left off the CD. When we expressed our disappointment, the supplier explained that he would not be able to replace the CD's before the Xmas break, which of course was very disappointing to hear."

The Pembroke Chapel Choir then contacted local CD duplication service, Cambridge-DR, to see if it was possible to have the Christmas Carol CD's produced in record time. Cambridge-DR is equipped with the very latest technology available worldwide and was able to turnaround the order within two days.

"We are a part of Copytrax, a world leader in the development of CD and DVD printing and duplication technology," said Philip Allingham, Sales Manager. "One of our machines is capable of digitally printing 1200 CD's an hour; so, of all the CD duplication companies in the world, I suspect we were best placed to meet their deadlines and what's more, we were on their door step." ( www.copytrax.com )

Once delivered back to the college, the entire choir set about repackaging the entire shipment, exchanging the old CD for the new corrected version. Once completed, the project was back on track and available to bring pleasure to thousands of listeners over the Christmas period.

"We are delighted with the service that we received from Cambridge-DR," said Dr Sam Barrett. "The CD's are of the highest quality and the turn around time has been very impressive.”

The Christmas CD's are now available for purchase from the Pembroke College website

To ensure every CD reflected the quality of Meridian and the F80, the CD's were printed and duplicated by Cambridge-DR, the Cambridge based digital media reproduction company.

"We've been using Cambridge-DR for several years now," said Stuart Russell, Marketing Manager for Meridian. "CD is obviously a very convenient format for distributing information about our products and high resolution product photography, Cambridge DMR are able to deliver very high quality on-body print and reliable duplication. Copytrax Launches Dedicated CD and DVD Duplication Service

Cambridge technology company, Copytrax, is known worldwide for its developments in the field of CD and DVD duplication and printing technology. Copytrax designs, manufactures and exports the machines that enable the production of business software, scientific and engineering software, music, film, games and marketing CD's and DVD's. For many years Copytrax has been providing an in-house duplication service in the Cambridge region and has now decided to launch a dedicated CD, DVD and Flash Drive duplication service called Cambridge DR (Digital Reproduction).

"We've always been involved in producing CD and DVD based products, it's been key to us understanding the market to enable us to develop the Copytrax technology," said Steve Woods, Managing Director of Copytrax. "However, this side of the business has constantly grown, so it's been an easy choice to separate it from the machine development side of the business and give it its own identity. Cambridge DMR will be managed by Philip Allingham who has a great deal of experience with this side of our operation."

Cambridge-DR will focus mainly on providing high quality software products for the business, academic, engineering and scientific markets. These are areas in which they have existing long-term customers and anticipate future growth. Offering full project management that includes packaging, design and even shipment if required, Cambridge-DR already handles major contracts for large organisations across the UK.

"We are currently using the very latest Copytrax Project 37 machines that can print 1200 CDs per hour and offer probably the best image quality available. This provides us with competitive pricing, fast delivery and a high quality product."

"I think what puts us ahead of the competition is both our technology and our ability to manage complex projects," said Philip. "We are currently using the very latest Copytrax Project 37 machines that can print 1200 CDs per hour and offer probably the best image quality available. This provides us with competitive pricing, fast delivery and a high quality product. For some of our clients, we have had to handle critical software projects that have been subject to multiple versions, going out to multiple locations and within strict timescales, so our systems and organisational skills have been well developed over the past few years."

In addition to CD and DVD Duplication, Cambridge-DR is a leader in the emerging market for Flash Drive duplication. Flash Drives are increasingly proving to be a very effective media for sharing data as they are easier to carry and handle than CD's and DVD's and offer more advantages from a marketing and branding perspective. Cambridge-DR can provide a range of Flash Drive designs with company and product logo's printed on the side, for events such as seminars, exhibitions and conferences."

"Whether it's a technical presentation, a training course or even evaluation software, Flash Drive media is now an innovative and cost effective option," said Philip. "When we duplicate data onto the Flash Drive, we can secure it in a protected area of memory, ensuring that it cannot be deleted or written over and also leaving the remaining memory available to the user."

The whole process is digital and fully automated, so we can run small batches as easily as large ones and without the need to charge for costly tooling and setting up time. Clearly, this also means we can deliver in shorter time-frames, so it's easy to see that Project 37 will be great news for our customers. "

Using Duplicated Flash Drives as an Effective Marketing Tool

To most people Flash Drives are simply a very convenient storage medium. In fact, it is their simplicity and convenience that makes them such a powerful marketing tool.

How is a Flash Drive used in marketing ?

The Flash Drive can be used to store your presentation, or an evaluation copy of your software, or your catalogue, or a Flash demo of your technology or even your entire website. Flash Drives can have a lot of capacity, so there is a plenty of scope to get creative. Your information can be stored in a secure folder, leaving the remaining space available for daily use by the recipient.

Furthermore, the Flash Drive can easily be branded with your company logo and tag line. With a wide choice of stylish designs available, you can be sure to create a product that will reflect the value of your company and your products.

What are the advantages of using a Flash Drive over a CD ?

Firstly, a Flash Drive is not a ‘throw-away' item. They are seen as useful and of real value, so will almost certainly be retained by the recipient. In fact, the recipient may be using this device on a daily basis, maybe even carrying it from meeting to meeting. At all times, your data and your logo will be available to convey your company message.

Being much smaller, a Flash Drive can easily be stored in a pocket or in a purse, so is far more portable. Also, they can have far more capacity for data than a CD and it is much easier and faster to access this data when retained on a Flash Drive.

From a physical perspective, Flash Drives have some key advantages. The data is not at risk of being corrupted by scratches and Flash drives rarely need any additional packaging such as inserts or jewel cases in order to create a sense of value – in this respect, Flash Drives can be quite self contained.

A recent development in this area has been the emergence of “credit card” USB flash drives. As the name suggests, they are the same size and shape as a credit card, giving more of an external area for the branding and marketing message and providing an even more portable format and up to 2Gbytes of memory.

How do I arrange to use Flash Drives for our next big event?

The best way forward is to contact a specialist digital media duplication company such as Cambridge DMR. Such companies have special equipment that not only copies the data to multiple Flash Drives but will also carry out quality tests to ensure the integrity of the device and the data. They will also be able to give you competitive pricing and a choice of style, colours etc and the option to have your logo on the Flash Drive casing.
